This is the IELTS speaking test which usually is for 11 to 14 minutes. The speaking test is divided into three parts, in the first part the examiner asks the candidate to describe himself and his family. In the second part, the candidate has to speak about a topic that will be assigned to him on the same day of the test. In the third part, the examiner will ask the candidate some follow-up questions related to part 2.

Describe a long walk you ever had – MODEL 1

Introduction 

Walking is one of the greatest activities for fitness. Each individual should at least walk 30 minutes every day. 

When did it happen?

It was my 20th birthday and I had to go back home but the road was packed with a heavy traffic jam. Due to the traffic, me and my friend decided to take a walk on the footpath. 

Where did you walk?

It was 8 o’clock in the evening, the time of winter. As the sky was shrouded with the fog, with a faint howl from the wind along with soft touches of cold breeze, and the sounds of bustling traffic slowly fading away we were walking close to my home.

Who were you with

The one who accompanied me on this walk was a friend of mine. He is a very dear old friend. I met him when I was 12 years old and we are still connected. 

How did you feel about this?

Since it was almost late at night we were a little exhausted. But the weather and the cold air felt so relaxing. After a point, we reached a park where we were walking barefoot which gave us a very soothing experience. We talked a lot that day and later on, ate some steaming hot dumplings which provided us with immense comfort in the chilly weather.

Introduction 

Walking can be the most basic activity and an excellent way to exercise for maintaining your health. You may perform this in any situation and no equipment is needed. 

When did it happen?

This long walk happened when me and my friend went shopping for flowers at a wholesale flower market in Delhi. It was a scorching hot summer day of July when it suddenly started raining which made a hot humid summer day turn into very cold and pleasant weather.

Where did you walk?

After shopping and waiting for the rain to stop we were feeling hungry so we decided to look around for places to eat. When we were walking it started drizzling. We were walking on the streets of the huge market.

Who were you with?

I was with my friend whom I met in the first year of my college. We share a lot of similar interests which have somehow contributed to the deepening of our friendship.

How did you feel about this?

I felt really good during and after the walk. The pleasant weather along with the sweet floral scent made the walk even better. We discussed things related to our future and career and laughed our hearts out while discussing the funny things we have done during our school days.

Introduction 

When did it happen? 

It happened when I went to Assam to meet my grandparents after 5 years during a festival. It was 6 o clock in the evening when I saw my Grandfather going out of the house to buy some fritters for all the kids of our house.

Where did you walk

We were walking on the road to reach the local market. I saw that a lot of people had small gardens to tend to just on the periphery of their home, which added a sense of serenity to the place. 

Who were you with

I was with my 76-year-old grandfather who proved to me how fit he is at such an old age 

How did you feel about this?

It was a very peaceful experience for me. My grandfather narrated some stories from both of our childhood days which made us go back to memory lane. The scenic views throughout the walk made me feel so calm.

  1. Do people prefer doing outdoor activities?

The answer varies from person to person, some people prefer going out and doing outdoor activities whereas some people prefer staying at home and totally depend on online mode.

  1. Do you think people should go out every day?

Yes, I think people should go out almost every day, they must go out and interact with people and do other outdoor activities.

  1. What is your favourite outdoor activity?

My favourite outdoor activity is going to the gym and attending musical concerts. Both of these activities give me joy and pleasure. 

  1. What outdoor activities do older people do?

I have seen many older people doing yoga and going out for walks almost every day. I have also seen some of them buying small groceries.

Conclusion
