ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING
Today we are going to talk about one of the core courses of the engineering, Electrical Engineering. The study of electrical engineering deals with the design, development and maintenance of electrical systems and their components. Not only that, the course also imparts knowledge on the manufacturing of electrical equipments which are used in various other sectors like construction, power distribution etc.
The branch also provides a wide range of fundamental knowledge in many core disciplines such as communications, control systems, signal processing, micro electronics, power electronics, renewable energy etc. Further students of electrical engineering also study about microprocessors and semiconductors. Interested in pursuing electrical engineering, let’s get to know about its scope.
SCOPE
- The world today is moving towards renewable sources of energy like hydeo, solar and wind power. Thus there is a constant demand of experts in this field.
- Electrical Engineering is not only growing in its core areas such as wireless communication, but is also finding applications in new disciplines like nanotechnology, biomedical engineering, bio-electronics etc.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Electrical engineers typically do the following:
- Work in power and transmission systems. Perform detailed calculations to develop manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications of electrical appliances.
- Direct the manufacture, installation, and testing of electrical equipment to ensure that products meet specifications and codes.
- Investigate complaints from customers or the public, evaluate problems, and recommend solutions.
- Work with project managers on production efforts to ensure that projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.
