Who is your friend? 

Today, I’ll talk about my friend whose name is Rohan. We have been friends for a while now and know each others families at this point! 

What habit does he/she have? 

One habit that my friend Rohan possesses and I truly admire is his discipline towards fitness. Despite his hectic schedule as a software engineer, he never skips his daily workout routine.

When did you notice this habit? 

I noticed it last year during monsoon when all the roads were jammed, yet Rohan was determined to go for his workout routine! Rain or shine, he wakes up early every morning and dedicates an hour to exercise, be it going for a run, hitting the gym, or practising yoga.

Explain why you want to develop this habit. 

His commitment to staying active and maintaining a healthy lifestyle is truly inspiring. I often find myself making excuses for not exercising, but witnessing Rohan’s dedication has motivated me to prioritize my physical well-being.

Neha: Describe a Habit Your Friend Has And You Want to Develop

Who is your friend? 

Today, I want to talk about my childhood friend, Neha. We have been friends for over 17 years now, and she continues to inspire me even more with each passing day. 

What habit does she have? 

A habit that I wish to cultivate is my friend Neha’s ability to read extensively. Neha is an avid reader and always carries a book wherever she goes. During her commute, lunch breaks, or even while waiting in queues, she makes the most of her time by immersing herself in the pages of a book.

When did you notice this habit? 

I noticed her passion for reading when we were travelling to our respective colleges. Her love for reading has not only expanded her knowledge but has also improved her vocabulary and communication skills. I, on the other hand, often find myself glued to my phone or mindlessly scrolling through social media, neglecting the joy and benefits of reading. Witnessing Neha’s passion for books has inspired me to make reading a regular part of my routine.

Who do you want to develop this habit? 

I want to develop this habit as not only will it improve my knowledge and vocabulary, but also help me develop a better attention span. 

Aditya: Describe a Habit Your Friend Has And You Want to Develop

Who is your friend? 

Aditya has been my friends for over half a decade now. I still remember the day we met- it all happened by chance when my mother sent me to his house to fetch some sugar as we did not have any at home. Aditya not only gave me sugar; he promptly invited me to a fifa game as well! 

What habit does he have? 

A habit that I admire in my friend Aditya is his mindfulness and practice of meditation. Despite the stress and pressures of daily life, Aditya remains calm and composed, thanks to his regular meditation practice. Every evening, he dedicates at least 20 minutes to sitting in silence, focusing on his breath, and quieting his mind. 

When did you notice this habit?

I noticed his habit by accident, as he was practicing meditation on our shared terrace. I did make it a point to inquire once he was done, and that’s when he shared his love for meditation with me. 

Why do you want to develop this habit? 

This habit has not only helped him manage stress but has also improved his concentration and overall well-being. I, on the other hand, often find myself overwhelmed by the demands of work and personal life, leading to increased anxiety and restlessness. Observing the positive impact of meditation on Aditya has motivated me to incorporate this practice into my daily routine.

Additionally, exercise can enhance mental well-being by reducing stress, anxiety, and depression while promoting better sleep quality and increased energy levels.

Reading extensively can contribute to personal growth and development in several ways. It expands one’s knowledge and intellectual horizons, enhances vocabulary and language skills, improves critical thinking and analytical abilities, and fosters empathy and understanding of diverse perspectives. Moreover, reading can be a source of inspiration, motivation, and personal enrichment.

3. Can you elaborate on the potential advantages of practising meditation regularly, as observed in your friend Aditya?

Regular meditation practice offers numerous advantages. It can help reduce stress and anxiety levels, improve focus and concentration, enhance emotional regulation and self-awareness, and promote overall well-being. I am sure that once I start my wellness journey, I will be on a better path towards realising my potential and purpose. 

4. What challenges or obstacles do you currently face in adopting these habits, and how do you plan to overcome them?

Some challenges I face in adopting these habits include lack of time management, procrastination, and lack of self-discipline. To overcome these obstacles, I plan to start small, gradually build up my habits, set realistic goals, and keep myself accountable. 

5. Apart from the habits mentioned, are there any other positive traits or habits you admire in your friends and would like to cultivate?

Yes, there are a few other positive traits and habits I admire in my friends and would like to cultivate. These include their time management skills, ability to maintain a work-life balance, their financial discipline and budgeting habits, and their commitment to living a holistic life.
