    Many people pick medicine because they really want to help others and bring good change in people’s lives. Some get inspired by their own experiences, like seeing a family member’s sickness, while others are attracted to the mental challenge and solving problems part of this field.

    Important qualities to succeed in medicine are empathy, patience, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and staying calm under pressure. Doctors and nurses need to connect well with patients, make difficult medical terms easy to understand for them, and work smoothly as a team.

    Jobs in medicine usually need working many hours, doing shift work, and handling very stressful situations. This can create problems for keeping a good balance between work and personal life. Financial challenges, such as high student loan debt, can also be a factor for some.

    There are a plethora of areas where improvement is needed. For example, we have to work towards making the healthcare system inclusive, increasing access to affordable healthcare, especially in underserved communities, investing in preventive care and public health initiatives, addressing shortages of healthcare workers, and streamlining administrative processes to allow more time for patient care.
