MODULE – 1: Describe A Quiet Place Ielts Cue Card

Introduction

A quiet place is a site where one finds peace and composure. A quiet place can be a park, a library, a cafe or a religious spot.

What is your favourite quiet place?

In today’s busy life, everyone is searching for peace and pleasure. Everyone is so tense with their lifestyle that they just want a quiet place to feel all their thoughts and emotions. That is only possible in a calm place. My favourite quiet place is “Bangla Sahib Gurudwara.”

What makes that place unique?

Since I was little I have visited Bangla sahib gurudwara with my family every weekend. The place is always crowded yet quiet. The people in the Gurudwara always have a positive energy that is so overwhelming that it makes my day. This place gives me a feeling of belongingness, a feeling of faith and hope.

Every Gurudwara is open for all caste, race, gender and religion. This system of equality and diversity always makes my day brighter and made me want to come here every week. The prayers in the Gurudwara make my soul come to peace and makes my mind silent. The positivity this place omits is out of this world.

What did you observe?

In Gurudwara, when I sit down in the prayer room I observe how everyone is the same, no matter the age, caste or status. The room is capable of holding almost 500 people yet that doesn’t cause any nuisance, it is a quiet place for many of the visitors. In the prayer room, everyone sits on the ground and listens to the speaker. One can feel the feeling of peacefulness and quietness of the heart and brain that prayer causes.

I always take deep breaths and feel calmer and calmer after a second. I then join my hands together and feel every word the speaker says. The speaker talks about how god is always with the one who supports themselves, and how helping others is going to make oneself a better human. I always feel so connected and touched by the prayers, they make my heart lighter and at peace.

Conclusion

Going to a religious place is more than just being connected to your religion or god, it’s more about getting to know your inner peace and finding out your quiet place.

Introduction

A quiet place is not an existing thing, it’s a place one makes where they feel calm and peaceful. For some it could be a walk in the park, it could be mountain climbing for others. For me, going on a long drive is my quiet place.

Describe your quiet place.

A quiet place is different and unique for everyone. My quiet place is a long drive to nowhere. I avoid driving but I love to sit beside my comfort person(family member, partner, sibling, friend). Talking to my comfort person about our day and things bothering us, without being felt judged is what makes this my favourite quiet place.

Who makes your quiet place unique?

A person that makes me feel safe, acceptable and listens to me makes my quiet place unique. Going on long drives with a person who cares about my day, my feelings and is understanding makes my day special. A 5 to 10 minutes long drive with such a person can make a lot of difference.

What did you observe?

When I am on a long drive I see children playing with other kids or with their pets, seeing tree leaves moving due to wind, and the water waves in the river such things make me feel connected to my surroundings. While driving downhill I observe many older couples walking and holding hands which is one of the most affectionate things in my eyes.

My quiet place is not self-isolation or complete silence but expressing myself to the one who cares about me. I love long drives because sometimes walking away from problems just for a little while to clear one’s head is the best way to solve a conflict.

Conclusion

A long drive with my comfort person and long conversation make my perfect quiet place. Everyone should have a quiet place to vent or relax their thoughts and feelings once in a while because piling up emotions, in the long run, can be harmful to mental health.

MODULE 3 – Describe A Quiet Place Ielts Cue Card

Introduction

Everyone has a quiet place and it can differ from person to person, my quiet place is sitting in a park and listening to calm music.

Describe your quiet place.

A quiet place is supposed to give you peace and calm. My favourite quiet place is to sit in a park and listen to calm music. Sometimes I bring my pet dog along and we play around a bit. Sharing my quiet place with my pet is one of the best ways I use to gain some solitude and emotional closure.

Why is this quiet place special?

Park is a very common place where people come to walk with their friends and family, I usually come to the park to cool off and calm my nerves. I often walk for a few minutes before sitting down. After some walks, I lay my blanket on the ground and sit down, I always carry a book with me while going to a park to read as it boosts my memory and soothes my mind from distractions.

What did you observe?

In the park I usually observe parents with their children playing badminton or passing the ball, it excites me and reminds me of my childhood. On the other hand, I see elder couples walking and talking to fellow other elderly people, together they all do yoga and other meditations. I observe children mimicking them and joining them which is very sweet, Sometimes I too join them while they do yoga and meditation as yoga has a lot of positive contributions not only to physical but mental health as well.

When I am sitting alone in the park by myself I often read books by Jane Austen, one of my all-time favourite books by her is “Pride and Prejudice” and “Mansfield Park”. While reading I play my all-time favourite artist Taylor Swift’s songs. It gives me the most calm and peaceful feeling, I feel at home.

Conclusion

I feel people should focus on their mental health like they take care of their physical health. Walking in a park, taking a long drive or anything that can distract one and make the mind at peace should be considered as an item on their to-do list.
