Initially, I did not pick up calls from unknown numbers, especially from spam calls. Still, on that day, my mobile network was also unstable because I was traveling to a different city. Even though I was getting bored and enjoying the journey. Suddenly, I received a call from an unknown number, so I picked up the call.
What did you talk about?
It would be nice to talk to someone when I am getting bored. The person on the other side said they only needed 2 minutes and there would be great news and opportunity at the end of the call. I started talking to the person on the phone call. He was providing me with a work-from-home opportunity. With these opportunities, I could earn Rs 20,000 per month. At first, I found it to be spam, but when I questioned him, he denied it, claimed it was a genuine call, and created an opportunity for me. Later, he asked me to pay around Rs 5,000 as an enrollment fee, and I realized it was a scam call.

I travel often to public places such as libraries and parks whenever I have free time. At that time, I was at a railway station because of the nature of my job. I had to pick up this call because it was from Club Mahindra. The telemarketer who called me told me about their company’s new campaign in which they are inviting a few people to attend a presentation. However, in that presentation, they will showcase their products and features. Those interested in buying products and those not interested in finding the products will be given a two-night and three-day complimentary stay at a resort in Glam Mahindra.

He invited me for this opportunity, and it was an excellent experience to talk to him, as at that time, I was alone while traveling for my train, and the waiting period was difficult. I conversed with the telemarketer for 10 minutes when I got the call. I didn’t realize that the train’s waiting time had been covered, and I saw the train coming.

I picked up the call because this number was new; I thought it might be someone who wanted to contact me. The call was from a recruiter from a job consultancy company. However, she said she has been connecting with me because I have applied for the position in their company. Overall, it was an opportunity for me to communicate with a company’s bright minds and a way to start my career.
What did you talk about?
She started talking to me about my CV and my experience and qualifications, but because I was in a public place, I didn’t want to talk to her at the same time I spoke because I needed that job. At the end of the conversation, she gave me a number to talk with our managers to connect for the telephone interview. Moreover, it was an excellent experience to do a telephone interview in a public place.
