How did you feel?

When I entered the school, I was daunted. I remember holding my mother’s hand tightly as we walked past the huge peepal tree at the entrance. My class teacher, Mrs. Sharma, greeted us with a warm smile, which helped me be at ease.

My first day at Kendriya Vidyalaya in Mumbai was an unforgettable experience. I joined Class 1, feeling really irritated at first as I did not understand the idea of uniforms well.

How did you feel?

As I entered the school compound, I was amazed in a second! The size of the building and the number of students- it was huge. The morning assembly, where we sang the national anthem and recited the school prayer, made me feel part of something bigger.

What are some events that you remember?

Our class teacher, Mrs. Desai, introduced herself in both Hindi and English, making everyone feel included. She organized a fun activity where we had to share our names and our favorite festival. I talked about Diwali, which helped me connect with other students with similar interests.
