The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) is a public college in New York City which is connected with the State University of New York (SUNY) and focuses on art, business, design, mass communication, and technology as they are related to the fashion industry.

Requirements by FIT

Undergraduate Admissions
Undergraduate students must have their official secondary or post-secondary school credentials examined by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. Where the secondary school does not foresee a transfer of credit, a document-wise examination that includes the following is required:
- Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA)
- Equivalency of the qualifications in the US
If the transfer of credentials is possible, FIT requests a course-by-course examination. The course title, US credit equivalent, and US grade equivalent must all be included in the evaluation. It also has to contain the following:

Postgraduate Admissions
The minimum requirement for students is a bachelor’s degree with 30 transferable credits from an accredited university, college, or other institution. Applications for the liberal arts, the arts, and design must have these 30 credits. Students are not required to submit their GRE scores, however doing so is advised. In addition, the results of any of the following English proficiency tests will be accepted:

When to apply?

- Calvin Klein: American fashion designer Calvin Richard Klein founded Calvin Klein Inc. in 1968, becoming the company’s first CEO. He has also given his name to several watches, fragrances, and jewellery products in addition to apparel.
He became the first fashion designer to be honoured at the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) awards ceremony for both excellent men’s and women’s wear design. He was listed among the best-dressed individuals internationally in 1983. He also earned a CFDA prize in 1981, 1983, and 1993. He won the Golden Plate Award in 1991 from the American Academy of Achievement.
- Micheal Kors: Michael David Kors is a fashion designer from the United States. Michael Kors is the chief creative officer of his company, which provides men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, accessories, watches, jewellery, footwear, and fragrance. From 1997 through 2003, Kors was the first women’s ready-to-wear designer for the French fashion label Celine.
