What is a PTE Score Chart?

A PTE score chart is representative of your English language proficiency. Universities, schools and employers may require this to get an idea of your expertise of the language. A scale of 10-90 is used to assess your level of excellence. It is divided into nine bands.

The PTE score chart is used in visa and immigration applications, in addition to academic and career endeavors. PTE scores are recognized by many countries and immigration agencies as a valid indicator of an applicant’s ability to adapt to an English-speaking environment. It serves its purpose in visa and immigration application, validity and reliability and score improvement tracking as well.

PTE Score Report

Understanding the marking scheme and criteria of a test helps in the preparation for the test more efficiently and smartly.

The PTE Score Report mainly has two categories: the overall score and the communicative skills score.

Overall Score: On a scale of 10 to 90, this represents your overall test performance. It is not, however, a measurement of the communicative skills scores on average.

Communicative Skills Score: These are the scores that a candidate receives for their performance in the four areas of communication—listening, reading, writing, and speaking. The range of scores for these abilities is between 10 and 90 points.

What is the PTE Scoring System?

Automated scoring technologies are the foundation of the PTE scoring system. In the PTE exam calculator, two methods of scoring are used:

  • Correct/Incorrect: The score for these questions is binary, and the solutions are frequently demonstrably accurate. You will receive the full mark for that question if you provide the right response. You will receive a zero score for that question if you provide an inaccurate response.
  • Partial Credit: This approach is utilized when there are several possible replies or when there is more than one correct or incorrect response. In these situations, the computer will give you a score based on how well you respond. For instance, even if your response is only partially accurate, you could still get some points for that question.
