International students in RUG

A bachelor’s degree program at the University of Groningen does not automatically welcome international students or Dutch students with non-Dutch credentials. Application, admission, and registration are the three parts of the whole registration process, which will take more time than for Dutch students with ordinary Dutch credentials. To be considered for admission, your previous education must have a general end level comparable to pre-university education (VWO) in the Netherlands.

One needs to follow this process for applying and getting admittance to RUG:

  • Register at the official website
  • Apply for the desired course
  • Collect receipt of application online
  • Assessment and review of documents attested
  • Receiving the decision letter from the university
  • The signing of the confirmation of participation letter and sending it
  • Visa application and approval
  • Payment of tuition fee
