In Part 1, the examiner asks simple questions about yourself, like your hobbies, family, or work. This part helps warm you up and get comfortable.

In Part 2, you will be given a cue card with a topic and must speak about it for two minutes. You have one minute to prepare and must structure your thoughts and talk confidently.

In Part 3, the questions become more complex, focusing on ideas and opinions related to the topic from Part 2. This tests your ability to discuss broader concepts and explain your views more deeply.

The key to success in this section is to stay calm, speak clearly, and focus on communicating your ideas. Don’t worry too much about grammar or vocabulary mistakes, as fluency and coherence are given more importance. With regular practice, you can build confidence and perform well in this section.

Silver Jewelry: Describe a time when you showed something new to others

What was it?

I know many people who show off different things to others or for their own happiness. I would like to discuss such things when I get something and show it to others. I remember going to my sister’s home during my vacation to spend quality time with her. It was the time of the most prominent Indian festival, Navratri, so I bought something other than traditional clothes because I had not bought one since childhood.

Where did you get this?

So I went to a market with my sister and my sister went to La Deva with me too. I bought traditional clothes; however, she helped me choose some silver jewelry to pair with clothes. I enjoyed the Navratri function during my vacation with her and went to the Graba Night Festival. However, when I returned home after my vacation, I showed off my traditional clothes to my mother, father, and neighbors.

And explain what you felt.

This moment was really a special moment for me, as I had not expected this to happen to me. Everyone appreciated me for getting the traditional clothes that I always wanted to wear and for the look that I had. I felt very happy and proud of myself because for the first time my mother appreciated me for being the best at shopping.

Model answer 2: Describe a Time When You Showed Something New to Others

What was it?

Here, I will talk about a precious movement in my life, which helps me describe a time when you showed something new to others. I remember being taught by a younger cousin, Aarav, how to play chess. Arav had always been curious about the game, but it was quite complex. It was a really difficult task for him to understand the chess at the first bit, then I realized that he needed help with it and I was really excited to help him learn chess.

Where did you get this?

We decided to have chess lessons during one of the summer holidays when we have plenty of free time. However, I felt excited and responsible when I decided to teach him. I started by explaining the basics of chess, like the board setup, names of the pieces and how to move each chess piece.

And explain what you felt.

This experience was an incredibly new feeling for both of us, and teaching was not really the difficult task but it also helped me to train myself, which boosted my confidence in explaining complex concepts simply to others. Moreover, this teaching movement reinforces my belief in the value of patience in creativity when teachers teach young people.

iPhone: Describe a Time When You Showed Something New to Others

What was it?

I liked to share a moment when I showed something to others. Last October, during China’s National Day Holiday, I traveled to Hong Kong and got the latest mobile piece of the iPhone 15 Pro in a striking blue color with 256 GB of storage. When I return home, I gather all my family members in a living room to show them the mobile phone.

Where did you get this?

The iPhone’s camera system includes innovative action buttons and unique dynamic Iceland features. In addition, I explain to them the efficiency of the mobile phone. I was excited to share the new technology with my family and proud to purchase this iPhone for myself from my own money, relying on my parents.

And explain what you felt.

This experience was really good to me, as I never expected to purchase myself a phone at the earliest with my own savings, and I was really happy to show them the success to make them happy.
